It feels great to tick items off your to-do list, it feels even better knowing that you had the results you desired after ticking those items off your list. But imagine a situation where an item you’ve ticked off your to-do list pops up again, not for anything other than the intended result was not seen. Now, imagine another situation where the intended result came out bad, simply because you hurried to remove an item from your list.
Indeed, great haste makes great waste!
Take your time to understudy the work you are doing, or you have been assigned to. It wouldn’t speak good of you if the work that you are doing fails, simply because you hurried it. If that time is not suitable or you are not in the right frame of mind to do that activity, postpone that work and do it at a time when you are functioning best with minimal stress.
A lot of people have lost valuable time and resources dealing with the consequences of a hurried work. The award to delivering on time should only be given when the work delivered on time came out as a resounding success. Some people boast about functioning better under extreme pressure, I believe the test to whether this is true is examining the result of that person’s work. If you have consistently delivered a perfect job irrespective of your frame of mind at that moment or even under extreme pressure, then by all means do what works best for you. If you don’t fall into this category of people, then do your best to do your work on time, do it well, be meticulous and don’t fall into the temptation of doing a dying minute work.
A new week is upon us, remember to give nothing other than your best.
Have a blessed week!
