It is not enough to make big plans. The real work lies in executing that plan. Some people are only good at making plans, but sticking to those plans, and following through with the necessary steps to reach their ultimate goal is where they really have a problem. (You can watch the video version of this here-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rStgas2XpFs)
Usually, the first step to executing a project is the ideation stage. Without the idea, the big successes we celebrate today wouldn’t have seen the light of the day. Once an idea is conceived, the next step is to ascertain the viability of the idea; this is where mere wishes are discarded, where you test possible ways to make the viable ideas a reality. After this comes the plans, i.e. how to get that idea into an achievable or doable work. Here you paint the entire picture down to the last stage where the final project becomes a reality, and eventually a real success. There is so much work to be done between the ideation stage and eventually the final stage.
Any person who intends to start any type of project should have an idea of all it takes to pull that project off. Deep research has to be done, knowing how much you need, the level of competence you need from your team and all other factors external to you should be known, before you fully embark on this project. Of course, it is not possible to know everything likely to occur before you start, just start as soon as an appreciable number of the variables can be determined by you.
Projects are often abandoned because of faulty plans, which is sometimes a result of failing to do the needed research required for that project. Do your research, don’t sleep on it and gradually start to execute your plans. Do not in the quest to work quick or deliver within a certain deadline, make mistakes that can cost you the entire project. So, make speed not haste.
Do you have an idea you have been ruminating over? Have you done your research? Is your delay in fleshing out that idea a result of your dwelling so much on what could go wrong? Remember, those unique ideas of yours that have given you so many sleepless nights, may eventually be worth it. Refuse to allow fear to dictate your thinking. Get up and start something, even if it doesn’t eventually work out, that’s still fine! Do not get stuck because you are afraid it could go wrong, give yourself the benefit of the doubt, do your research and be bold to execute that plan.
Have a good week!
