See The Good In Others

It is very simple or rather very easy to look down on what others have accomplished with the saying “Oh if I had that opportunity I would have done even better “. Such statements attempt to make little of the accomplishments of others. Do not allow yourself to be drawn into such discussions. No matter how easy it may seem to get something done or certain tasks accomplished, the person who made such an accomplishment took time, applied effort, and did everything possible to make that project or that final result a success. Why because many people find it hard to pursue ideas to a logical conclusion. So, anyone with the discipline to think, visualize an idea and make something out of that idea deserves accolades and recognition, irrespective of whatever help or “connections” the person had along the way. Not many people with the same connections have been able to tap into their social currency to accomplish such a feat. So, give people their flowers when they accomplish something worthwhile! (You can see the video version of this here –https://youtu.be/f6YxlIF_7yQ)

If you have been a person used to starting up ventures, you would acknowledge the amount of work it takes to pull an idea from the ideation stage to the execution stage. Sometimes certain challenges may come up, while many attempt to overcome them, so many others fail to overcome them. This is why it is a big deal for someone to get results or accomplish certain feats. They deserve to be celebrated, so do not join others to make little of other people’s efforts.

Another point to note is that it takes practice to see the good in others, so while others are downplaying other people’s results, be amongst that few lone voices that look beyond the surface and cheer on others. Practice it and before you realize what you are doing, you will be amongst those who see the good in others.

Have a fruitful week!
