TIME

Time is like a flowing river, it keeps moving, never stopping for anyone, so make use of every opportunity life presents to you as you may not be fortunate to see that opportunity again. If you learn to value your time, people will learn to respect you and only come to you when they have something worthwhile to discuss with you. Time is precious, it is a scarce commodity, do not trivialize your time, put some value to it and make the best out of every opportunity that life throws at you.

There is a big difference between your holiday seasons/leisure time and your work seasons. It is expected that your holiday season is to be dedicated to fun activities, or just relaxation activities including travel, visiting friends, and generally taking life slow. Same cannot be said of your work seasons. You will be naturally expected to meet whatever timelines you have to deliver on different tasks. It will therefore be irresponsible of you to devote your work time to doing activities that are naturally expected to be done at your leisure time. So, the problem is not in the activity, but whether you are doing that activity at the right time. Valuing time and treating it as a precious commodity means knowing when to do what at the best time suited for it, not doing so amounts to abuse of time.

Place value on your time and that of others. Do not expect everyone’s time to coincide with yours, i.e leisure time, work time etc. Learn to appreciate that different things work for different people. If you need help, ask for it, expect that the help if it is to be given will be done at the other persons convenience and not your time.

This week, be deliberate about using your time appropriately. Not just your time, but that of others.

Have a good week!
