Time is the only constant factor that applies to every human being. We all have twenty-four hours of the day. So many other factors, such as our background, opportunities, environments etc, are variables. So, as much as we like to say we are busy, the question is “busy with what”? While some people can get out more at the end of the day, some people cannot account for their time. (You can see the video version of this here- https://youtu.be/bqwiVQknzdc?si=dyd-f4rzu__5mq3Z )
Time is a scarce commodity, it is very valuable and important. How we use this scarce commodity eventually determines our success in life. If you don’t understand the importance of time, you may not understand how to use it, and how not to allow others waste your time. Using your time well or accounting for your time does not mean working round the clock. It simply means knowing how to allot adequate time to the various activities you are engaged in. For instance, working while you should be resting may not be a good use of your time, because you may break down, fall ill and be unable to do other productive activities.
This is a new year, I think one of your new resolutions should be to ensure that every minute of your time is well accounted for. There are so many things around us clamouring for our attention. Time management starts with understanding that you cannot do or give attention to this many activities. Be selective with the activities you engage in, rank those activities according to their order of importance in your life, and then allot the necessary time to each activity. By so doing you would have excluded the activities that are not really important in the grand scheme of things.
Be a good time manager, you may eventually realize that the time you think is not sufficient is actually enough for you to realize your important tasks every day.
Have a productive week!
